Relation Brother - Iftikhar Ahmed
Imtiaz Ahmed was a middle order wicketkeeper batsman who also batted in the top order often. He was Pakistan's first regular wicketkeeper. He made the first ever double hundred by a wicketkeeper when he scored 209 against New Zealand in October 1955. He has died in Lahore on 31 December 2016, five days short of his 89th birthday.
Imtiaz played 41 Tests for Pakistan between 1952 and 1962, and captained in four of those matches towards the end of his career. He made 2079 runs at an average of 29, and took 77 catches and effected 16 stumpings.
